The patient is guided through the information relating to their operation or procedure in a clear and concise way using a combination of text, voiceovers, animations, photographs and illustrations aiding the informed consent process. Your patients can, at their own pace, read from:

• why they need the operation/procedure including the risks/benefits and alternatives, through
• what happens before, during and after the operation/procedure, to
• practical aspects e.g. pack an overnight bag.

Medical conditions
This contains information on over 250 medical conditions covering common ailments such as asthma to rare conditions such as intersex. The aim is to provide the level of detail known to a specialist doctor, in language that is understandable by people without medical training, and in a format that allows them to access as little or as much as they want. The approach is holistic, covering complementary therapies commonly used in the treatment of that condition.

In the main, the conditions are structured in 3 increasing levels of depth.

Complementary treatments
This section contains information on 25 of the major treatments. It also provides the hard scientific evidence behind these therapies. This supplements the complementary information in the medical conditions section.

The structure is the same 3 levels described above. Additionally, the In brief section includes a bottom line statement on the effectiveness of the treatment.
